ESOF2006 aims to attract a diverse audience from all scientific disciplines, as well as journalists, policy-makers and science communicators. The programme committee welcomes contributions that highlight the interdisciplinary strengths of the meeting or which address one of the identified themes.

The call for proposals was launched on March 15th 2005 and ended on June 15th 2005. Interested session organisers submitted an impressive amount of proposals for scientific sessions and outreach activities. Selected scientific sessions will be part of the conference programme whereas the outreach activities will be incorporated as international best-practice examples in the Wissenschaftssommer 2006 (German National Science Week) which will be jointly held with ESOF2006 in Munich.

Decisions about selected proposals will be announced in January 2006.
